July Recommendations:
Music: I had a high school reunion this month and at many of the venues, music from the 60’s. I was reminded of my colonoscopy which when in the waiting area, the same music selections were heard: they have our demographic pegged. In honor of my beautiful wife Kernie and the presence I felt with her at the reunion: Love—She Comes in Colors.
Podcasts: There is a series called, I Spy brought to you by Foreign Policy. Season 3, episodes 1 and 2 have a riveting first person narrative from the lead CIA operative in Saigon the months prior to its fall. Great listening.
From Cautionary Tales. The art forger, the nazi, and the pope.
Movies: In the Heights
The Bookshop with Emily Mortimer and Bill Nighly
Hope Gap with Bill Nighly and Annette Benning
About Time with Bill Nighly
YouTube: Check out the graduation speech given 5 years ago in Texas by Admiral McRaven. Most graduation speeches suck but this one is excellent.
