Books:

A Study in Scarlet: my first Sherlock Holmes story and it is the novel that introduced Watson. I was surprised at how good this was and the unexpected turn it took building a history around a Mormon character.

White Fang by Jack London. Again, an old book but quite well written with love and devotion to this history of a Wolf/dog hybrid.

Going Infinite by Michael Lewis. This is the story of Sam Bankman-Fried who is in jail over his work with bitcoin among other financial adventures. I still can’t tell you what bit- coin is…….and neither could Michael Lewis. This story is fascinating for what a Neuro-variant individual can accomplish in a short time in this world—and that got me to thinking about Twitter (now known as X) and Theranos….…

Movies—Just one: The Hitman on Netflix

Streaming Shows—Band Of Brothers—Holds together beautifully - I last saw it when it was new. I watched with my own observation of D Day in mind.

Under the Bridge—English drama that leaves you angry and frustrated with every single character…..and teenagers are the source of it all.

Articles—this is a NYT take on the housing crisis and this is a rich read that finds me thinking, once again, that our society is stuck with Democracy 1.0 and others have moved on with obvious improvements.......https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/08/headway/how-an-american-dream-of-housing-became-a-reality-in-sweden.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare&sgrp=c-cb

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/08/opinion/covid-fauci-hearings-health.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare&sgrp=c-cb.   Again, from the NYT and article about the Covid Response and Trust in Public Health and Government in General.

PodCasts: TWIV (This Week in Virology) # 1121 June 8—This finds a group of virologists who have been following the science of the Covid epidemic since day #1 discussing the editorial in the NYT from early this month suggesting that Covid came from a lab leak in China. The title of this podcast refutes that assertion in detail and is worth a listen: SARS-CoV2 did not come from a lab………
